It has dedicated to publicize the importance and effectiveness of cancer prevention and early detection and treatment with the support of the yearly membership dues and additional contribution from members and directors. Recently it also conducted the enlightment project, which widely gave the result to publicity by assessing the scientific soundness of various cancer-related information.
It is known that cancer has been ranked as the No. 1 cause of death among Korean people since 2000. Currently, about 180 persons on the average die from it and about 300 people are diagnosed as new cancer patient every day. However, it is clear that cancer is preventable and curable, and can be overcome easily based on the medical knowledge which has been studied and aggregated until now. By modifying the life style and environments of each person, about 80% of cancer occurrence can be prevented in advance. Even the possibility of prevention of the most common cancers among Korean people (stomach, liver, lung, large intestine, breast, and cervix) is even higher than other cancers, even though cancer occurs by failing to prevent it, And it can be cured almost 100% through early diagnosis and treatment.

KSC has made an effort to strongly and effectively develop the publicity work, educational work, and exhibition works for prevention and early diagnosis, focusing on the most common six cancers.
Recently, we expanded the publicity work and educational program for people as a nation-wide initiative under the support of health promotion fund from the government, and conducted various campaigns and projects supported by contributions from leading companies. Healthy Family Project, Five-Color Meal Campaign, Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, and Hope Campaign against Cancer are examples of those activities.
My dear! Cancer is a disease that is curable. With efforts from all of the people, we can oust it from its position as the leading cause of death within the a few years. KSC will do its best to expel and conquer cancer. We expect your ardent support and participation.
