| April At 2:30 p.m. of April 9(Saturday), the first general meeting was held with 57 participants under the presidency of Kim, Seuck Hwan, the director of Jungang General Hospital, at the auditorium of the Korean Medical Association. |

On December 6,
the Korean Cancer Society as a corporate juridical aimed person, was established aimed to contribute to the eradication of tumors in Korea and to contribute to international anti-cancer activities by appointing Samsung founder Lee, Byung Chul as the first president and by securing Permit No. 765 of the Ministry of Health and Welfare under Article 32 of the Civil Law.
The office was inside the Joongang Daily Building located at 58-9, Seosomun-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. Then it began to develop the cancer extermination campaigns by raising funds from directors and from individuals and organizations that joined the society in support of objectives.
The logo of KCS was made on June 30 of the same year. |

| KCS formally joined UICC (International Union against Cancer), starting paying the membership fee amounting to USD 2,200 every year, and collected and interchanged various cancer-related information. |
